James M. Gee, CPA, CIRA, CFE, is a licensed insurance producer with a multi-state practice and over 30 years of experience serving insolvency and workout trustees, fiduciaries, and their professionals.

He spent 23 years with the U.S. Department of Justice’s U.S. Trustee Program, including trustee oversight, fiduciary bonding and financial investigations. Through Fiduciary Bridge, James connects that experience with insurance review and placement coordination for distressed property, operating businesses and fiduciary assignments.

Credentials at work

What that combination brings to your case.

  1. 1

    CPA: understand the cash consequences.

Bring premiums, deductibles, retentions, financing, collateral and potential refunds into the same financial picture. Evaluate the total cost of protection against the case budget.

  2. 2

CIRA: connect coverage to the restructuring.

Test the insurance program against taking control, continuing operations, selling assets and closing the assignment. The expected holding period and exit strategy matter.

  3. 3

CFE: ask how value can disappear.

Examine fraud exposures, control failures and the interaction of crime, cyber and fidelity coverage. Identify records and reporting questions that need prompt attention.

  4. 4

Licensed producer: bring the review to the market.

Translate the assignment into underwriting information, compare available terms and coordinate placement through appropriately licensed agencies. Multi-state licensing supports assignments involving more than one jurisdiction.

Licensing

James is a multi-state licensed insurance producer (National Producer Number: 21712308). Compensation and conflicts

The assignment sets the recommendation.

Our work starts with what the assignment needs today. A recommendation may be to keep a useful policy, amend it, seek alternatives or arrange an orderly termination when the exposure and continuing obligations permit. We evaluate the incumbent program and proposed replacements against the same facts.

Service commitments are agreed around the assignment and its milestones. Recommendations should not depend on preserving a renewal stream or replacing a policy simply to generate a new commission.

Compensation may include insurance commissions and separately agreed fees where permitted. We disclose the applicable arrangements and review relevant affiliations, prior work and conflicts involving our own participating firms as well as incumbent providers. A conflict may require independent advice, a different provider or court approval; disclosure alone does not resolve every conflict.
